  7. Pick the puck passer up and put it away

The best part is that the rebounders have three sides, which means that you can either train with three other people or you can challenge yourself to change sides every single time you hit. That makes things a lot harder, and increasing the difficulty of your training increases the quality. 

Balance Boards

Balance is an important thing to have even in day-to-day living. Let’s say you’re carrying in the groceries and the weight of the bags isn’t distributed well. Without good balance, you’re likely to accidentally fall and that won’t be a fun thing. The sight of the shattered glass and spaghetti sauce all over the ground will certainly not be a pleasant one for your loved ones. 

When you’re on the ice, balance becomes even more important. As you’re probably aware, ice is a lot harder to keep your footing on than dry land. It’s just a lot more slippery than the regular ground, which makes it a challenge to keep on your feet at times. 

If only there was some sort of way to train your balance that could help you be better at balancing both on and off the ice… Well, good news, there absolutely is! This tool is called a balance board and it is a great tool to use as a hockey player to help keep yourself upright more often. 

It’s actually a pretty simple device. There’s a board and a cylinder. You put the board on top of the cylinder and try your best to keep your balance. This might sound like it’s easier than it is, but it’s actually not a bad challenge. 

The board goes on top of the cylinder, which is called a roller, and you try to keep your balance while the roller rolls around. This requires a lot of coordination in order to keep yourself from losing your balance, and that helps you keep yourself upright in games. 

The best part about this is that you can combine the balance board with your hockey stick and puck so you can practice stickhandling while you’re practicing your balance. That makes your practice that much more efficient by allowing you to practice multiple things at once.

Hockey Stick Weights

We’re just going to cover this one rather quickly. Dryland hockey tiles, also known as hockey flooring, are a type of flooring that is designed to help you with your stickhandling skills. It’s a smooth, slick surface that can replicate the feeling of hitting a puck on real ice. 

This is great for shooting your puck around your house and really getting used to the feeling of hitting the puck. The best part is, you can combine this with any other training tool and use them in tandem to get the best possible practice. 

It is worth noting that you cannot use your ice skates on the hockey flooring because you would destroy it, but you can use your socks or shoes on it and slide around a little bit. This kind of flooring definitely isn’t for skating practice, just for shooting and stickhandling practice.
